Introduction
- The school of materials science and engineering of Chongqing University originated from the former Department of metallurgy,the second Department of mechanical engineering and the former Department of building materials engineering ofChongqing University of architecture. At present, the college has two first-class disciplines:Materials Science and engineering and metallurgical engineering, of which materials science isa national key discipline and iron and steel metallurgy is a national key (cultivation) discipline. Three undergraduate majors, namely material science and engineering, material forming and control engineering and metallurgical engineering, are set up. At present, there are 247 in-service teaching staff, including 185 full-time teachers, 1435 undergraduates and 1224 doctoral and postgraduate students. It has gathered national high-level talents such as academicians, Yangtze River, outstanding youth and 10000 Talents Program. It has successively undertaken more than 1000 national and provincial level projects, such as national key R & D plan, national "973", national major instrument special project and international cooperation major project. It has won more than 70 national and provincial science and technology awards, and has built a national magnesium alloy engineering technology research center and an international first-class electron microscope Mirror center and other high-level scientific research bases.
